Abigail and the Airstream

Happy Monday! As I mentioned in my last post, one of the vendors we enjoyed visiting at the Lucketts Spring Market was 2 Chix And A Barn. Not only do they have beautiful fabric creations, vintage treasures and fun hand-made pieces, they also have "her". Who is "her"? Pearl.

Pearl is a vintage Airstream trailer that serves to transport the wonderful goods from market to market. Knowing she'd never seen anything like her, I wanted to introduce my grand girlie, Abigail, to Pearl. It was love at first sight!

We climbed up the little stairs and into this beauty and Abigail was in absolute awe! She couldn't believe that there was such a thing as a "vacation home on wheels" and the more she saw, the more she squealed! "MeeMaw! You can actually spend the night in here?" I explained to her how the dining benches and sofas converted into beds, that some had an actual bed in one end, and some even had bathrooms! She was amazed! "MeeMaw! This kitchen is my size! Does it really work?"

Giggling, she exclaimed, "MeeMaw! Look at this cute little refrigerator!"

She went from one feature to the other, commenting on everything and posing for pictures.  She decided that we needed to get an Airstream to go on vacation to the beach. I like the way the kid thinks! I must admit that the gypsy in me would love to do just that, and then travel the countryside in search of flea markets and festivals all summer. Who wants to join us?

Lucketts Spring Market 2015

Happy Sunday, y'all! Wow! I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted here! I didn't mean to take such a long break, it just happened. Life happened. So now I get to catch up on everything that's been going on, starting with my annual visit to the Luckett's Spring Market!
My daughter and I enjoy our annual trip to the market and this year, she won VIP tickets for the early bird shopping day on Friday! This was great because it wasn't as crowded as the weekend days and we got to see the goodies fresh off the trucks! We had a blast! We got there early and the weather was perfect - warm, sunny and with a refreshing breeze.
There was SO MUCH to see and you can find just about everything there. From the most refined Victorian settee to the best rusty old bed springs, they have it all and we saw it all! Twice! We made a return trip on Sunday and brought my grand daughter, Abigail, with us. She is just as big a vintage junker as her MeeMaw is!

The folks at Lucketts really do a fabulous job of setting up the market. The grounds are gorgeous to begin with, with lovely flowers and even a swimming pool! I'm always so tempted to hop that fence and take a dip in the glistening, cool water! The green house is where the old store is located. Beyond the pool and through a charming breezeway, you'll find yet another lovely old home, which houses the Design House.
There, you'll find wonderful rooms staged with furniture, home décor and lighting in inviting vignettes. It's open on select weekends and is well worth adding to your visit! We also enjoyed sitting in the covered area where the shade offered a nice resting spot for a bite to eat and a cold drink while listening to the Adam Bruno band - they were terrific! I don't listen to much country-type music, but they played selections from The Eagles, Jimmy Buffett and my new favorite song, "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Come Off"! It gave me a real good laugh!
Please join me as we take a tour of the market with lots of pictures! There is so much inspiration and the photos just make me happy!
I have a thing for old door knobs and East End Trading Company always has the best selection!

This sweet vignette gave me the perfect idea of how to display my vintage typewriter!

Remember these? I skated on mine so much, I wore holes in the metal wheels!

Perfectly rusty wheelbarrow filled with flags and flowers

Old bikes are the coolest!

Such a peaceful, shaded garden setting!
Abigail really enjoyed the tee-pee at The Robin's Nest!
Just look at all the treasures!

Beautiful items and a fun Airstream!
I wanted to take all of this home and put it in my yard - even the lobster!

Of course, I have to take pictures of every old truck and trailer I see!

I adore this bench made with an old FORD truck tailgate!
Treasures as far as the eye can see!
Next up what I bought, what I did with it and Abigail's love affair with a Vintage Airstream!

Thank you so much for stopping by and for sticking with me during my absence! Have a wonderful day! Hugs, Leena
