November 3 - Today I am thankful for puppy kisses. You know, those crazy, 100 licks per minute, so excited to see you that I'm going to burst puppy kisses that make you feel so happy? I get those from the little pup next door.
She's a maltese-bichon mix, a tiny fur ball and quite the character. Whenever she sees me, she pulls on her leash so hard that she stands on her hind legs, while waving her front paws at me. Her owner will let go of the leash and she'll race over, leaping up at me until I lean down to her level, exposing my face to the outpouring of affection that makes me laugh and can brighten any day.
I miss having a dog, so Lucy really helps to fill that void with her unconditional love. Pets are such wonderful beings. They add so much to our lives while asking so little. A face to lick, a lap to sit on and they're happy! Works for me!
Thank you for stopping by! I always appreciate your visit and you kind comments. Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs, Leena

30 Days of Thankfulness-November 1st and 2nd
My wonderful friend Sarina, who is a fabulous person, by the way, has this great idea of posting something to be thankful for each day during the month of November. I think that this is a perfect way to stay in check during what can be a very busy time of year. Most of the time, our heads are filled with menus, holiday planning and preparations, gift lists and the like. A joyful time can be proceeded by a maddening one, leading to stress and a real lack of enjoyment. Before we know it, the holidays are gone and we wonder where the time went. Taking a little break for ourselves, to reflect upon our lives and what we're grateful for, can provide a calming, insightful moment of reflection and bring everything back into perspective.
So today, I'm starting my list and I'm really looking forward to doing this each day!
November 1 - I am thankful that the damage to my area caused by Hurricane Sandy was minimal and that my family and friends are safe. I pray that those in areas of devastation find peace and have their lives back to normal soon.
November 2 - I am thankful for my phenomenal husband Jim and for his slow but sure recovery back to health! He has been through so much since February and has stood strong. He has continued to be my partner as we work together, support one another and deal with the every day hurdles. It has been so stressful, but love really can conquer all!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Please check back for daily updates and let me know if you make your own list! I'd love to know what your thankful for and if you're enjoying this exercise.
Have a wonderful day! Hugs, Leena
