November 12 - Today I am thankful for blog link parties. I so appreciate all of the bloggers out there who host these parties! Some have themes, some don't, but all are a lot of fun! When I first started blogging, I had no idea what it meant when a blogger wrote "just hit the linky down there and join in!" The linky? What's the linky?" I have a friend named Linkie, but she doesn't have anything to do with blogs, so I was totally lost. I wanted to participate, but since I was a total DUH and didn't know how, I just read some of the posts attached to the thumbnails and followed the blogs I liked, leaving comments on each one I read. I really like to leave comments so that folks know I appreciate the time they take writing their posts and their content.
One day, I was on Twitter and saw a link to French Country Cottage's link party. I really wanted to join so I asked Courtney how to link up. She was so sweet to write the instructions to me in a message (it took 4 messages to get it all in!) and from then on, I was a partying linker! I love her Feathered Nest Friday, along with several other parties I have discovered. I don't participate every week (sometimes I just don't think my posts are very exciting) but I try to as often as possible. It is so much fun! I will spend hours during the weekend, reading as many linked posts as I can from the various parties. I have discovered so many wonderful, beautiful, informative and entertaining blogs this way and have also met many bloggers who fit the same descriptions! Several have even started following my blog, which is so nice of them and so encouraging to me!

I'm thankful for linky parties too! New bloggers are just blogging in the dark without them. Nobody can find you without them at first. So nice to know you came by! Happy partying!
ReplyDeleteLeena I swear I'm still a big "DUH" half the time lol! It's all going too fast for little ole me *winks* I agree Courtney is one of the sweetest! I get so much blog traffic from her party. As a new blogger parties are the best and quickest way to be seen. So God bless all those hostesses! Vanna
