HI Everyone! I hope you're all in a cookie baking and eating mood because this cookie recipe swap is guaranteed to be filled with loads of yummy, irresistible recipes you won't want to miss! My recipe swap partner was Grandma Loy of Grandma Loy's Kitchen. She sent me a recipe that she originally received from a lady at church. Thus the name, Church Lady Cookies!
These are no ordinary, run-of-the-mill cookies. A unique combination of ingredients makes them chewy, soft, crispy and enticingly sweet! Are your taste buds begging for the recipe yet? Well, here it is: recipe:
Church Lady
Cookies
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown
sugar
1 c. butter or
margarine, softened
1 c. vegetable
oil
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour
1 t. baking
soda
1 t. salt
1 c. cereal like
Rice Krispies
1 c. oats, quick or
old fashioned (I use quick)
1 c. coconut
(coconut and nuts can be toasted, if desired)
1/2 to 1 c. walnuts
or other nuts
Directions:
Combine sugar, brown
sugar and butter together until well blended Add vegetable oil, egg and vanilla
and beat until smooth. Combine flour, baking soda and salt and mix well. Stir
flour mixture into sugar mixture, mixing well. Stir in cereal, oats, coconut
and nuts. Drop by teaspoon-fulls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350
degree for 12 to 15 minute or until lightly browned around edges. Remove to wire rack to
cool. Makes about 6 dozen cookies
